About OTsup:
OTsup (OpenTracker Source Update) is a simple little shell script. It will sync with the OpenTracker/Deskbar source trees. Compile Tracker, libtracker.so, and Deskbar. Copy the resulting binaries into place. And restart Tracker and Deskbar.
OTsup has a couple selling points over other means of OpenTracker distribution:
1. Interactivity.
OTsup has essentially no interactivity at all. It is designed to be run with no user intervention, which is useful for scheduled updates (i.e.. with cron, etc.), remote execution (from a telnet session, etc.), or going out to lunch while you sync with OpenTracker ;-)
2. Source.
OTsup syncs directly with the source trees to OpenTracker/Deskbar. The source from the source trees is always up to date, other means of distribution of OpenTracker/Deskbar are not always up to date.
