About Ati Radeon Graphics Driver:
As the driver provided by Be doesn't support the Radeon built into my laptop (MAXDATA Pro 660X, i.e. a Radeon M6 LY, also known as M6P), I wrote a new one.
Installation:
- install the package
- remove any radeon driver left on your system; the safest way is to move the kernel driver to another place, i.e. search for radeon (usually under /boot/home/config/add-ons/kernel/driver/bin) and move it to your home folder (just renaming it but leaving the file in the original folder doesn't work!)
- reboot
Uninstallation:
- boot in safe-mode
- move radeon back to the original folder
- reboot
The following restrictions apply:
- the driver offers full 2D acceleration but no 3D acceleration; neither standard BeOS nor Dano supports HW OpenGL, only the OpenGL beta does, so only a few could use that feature; additionally, there is no driver interface published by Be, so even if I had enough time to write an OpenGL driver, I wouldn't know how to do that under BeOS)
- if connected to a TFT, the native resolution and refresh rate of this display is used, so you can only fiddle with the colour depth (this was necessary as my Laptop display has a non-standard resolution which you cannot choose in the screen preferences - one of the few design flaws of BeOS; additionally, messing with the refresh rate can blow up the TFT - at least this was written somewhere)
The driver was written for a MAXDATA Pro 660X (i.e. a Radeon M6 LY, also known as M6P, PCI-ID 4c59). I've added the IDs of all Radeon cards I could find and wrote the driver in a way that all of them should be supported; but without having any hardware to through it on, there's not much I can do if it doesn't work for you. If it does, please tell me or post a message at TalkBack.
I'll publish the source code as soon as it is cleaned up, to give others (like the guys from BeDrivers) a chance to add support for other cards.

Details about this version:
Following bugs have been fixed:
- due to an internal overflow, drawing errors appeared 73 minutes after boot-up, including lock-ups when you tried to change resolution after this "time-out"
- forgot to synchronize screen-to-screen blits (redrawing in editors was wrong sometimes)
If you get no screen output:
- some Radeons have both DVI and VGA connectors - try the DVI port (you may need a DVI-VGA converter if your monitor hasn't a DVI input)
- please mail me the PCI-ID of your card or (even better) your syslog
