Who for the how it all happens
CoreLinux++ Semaphores Partial Implementation!
With the 0.4.9 we have the workings of Semaphore and SemaphoreGroup. There is more work to come for these and other system level classes.
Application Forum added!
We have added the CoreLinux++ Applications forum, accessable from our project page, to capture requests, requirements, and references to applications using the CoreLinux++ process. Drop a suggestion or detail of your development project!
The CoreLinux Consortium was formed to provide a standards and conventions initiative for C++ development on Linux. In addition to the definitions, core C++ class libraries (LGPL) will be developed to further the ease at which other C++ development projects may base themselves.
In the world of Linux there is very little (although this is growing) C++ acceptance. Where there are C++ libraries they are either so specialized as to be unusable in a more generic form, trying to be so portable that the performance in the native environment suffers, or not fully analyzed and designed with extensions in mind.
To formalize a convention by which other Linux C++ developers may align to the benefit of a common grammar and readability.
To maximize what the C++ standard provides by aligning as close as possible to said standards. To ease new developers into C++ for Linux by providing ready made patterns commonly used in software development.
Not to be written for portability, but for exploitation of the Linux operating system enabling all that it has to offer to optimize performance.
