Jacl and Tcl Blend Download Page

Download version 1.2 of Jacl and Tcl Blend Welcome to the download page for Jacl & Tcl Blend. We have a couple of different download and installation options depending on your needs and platform. What's New in 1.2 If you're interested in the 1.1 version of Jacl and Tcl Blend, they are still available on the Scriptics FTP site or the 1.1 download page. If you're interested in the 1.0 version of Jacl and Tcl Blend released by the Sun team, they are still available on the Scriptics FTP site or the 1.0 download page. Requirements To use Jacl you need the following: Java 1.1 or newer, including 1.2. You can download the latest version of JDK from JavaSoft's download page or you can download IBM's latest version of the 1.1 JDK from IBM's JDK download page. To use Tcl Blend you need the following: Java 1.1 or newer, including 1.2. The JVM must support the official JNI (Java Native Interface). The Microsoft JVM uses a non-standard native interface that is not compatible. A native thread version of Java (Tcl blend will not work with Green threads). Tcl 8.2 for the binary release Tcl 8.0 or Tcl 8.2+ for the source release Download UNIX Version Significant improvements have been made in version 1.2 that make it very easy to build and install Jacl and Tcl Blend from a source release. The configure process used to build Jacl or Tcl Blend can check that your existing Java and Tcl tools are installed and working correctly. The source releases for unix systems also includes a handy set of shell scripts that automate the process of setting environmental variables required to run Jacl or Tcl Blend. See the New Features page for more details. Jacl Binary Release (.jar files) These are .class files compiled with Sun's JDK 1.1 compiler. They should work on any 1.1 or newer JVM. UNIX compressed tar file UNIX gzip'd tar file Source Release (.java files) These are all the .c and .java files needed to build Jacl on your favorite platform. UNIX compressed tar file UNIX gzip'd tar file Tcl Blend Solaris Binary Release for JDK/JRE 1.1 This package is compiled for SPARC machines running Solaris 2.51+ and the 1.1 Java virtual machine, either the Sun or IBM 1.1 JVM should work. The binary release requires Tcl/Tk 8.2.
