Matt Thompson, JavaTM
Technology Evangelist Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Matt Thompson is the Group Manager of the Technology Evangelism team in
Sun's Market Development/Developer Relations group. Matt's 12 years of
software engineering experience have been shared between building integrated
development environments, productivity tools, and object-oriented frameworks.
In the last few years, Matt has focused on enabling the creation of software
by leveraging Sun's key technologies, such as the JavaTM
platform. He now spends most of his time on delivering Sun's technology
strategy to developers world-wide. Matt started at Sun many years ago.
After several years, he worked at Taligent (building object-oriented
frameworks) and General Magic (building hand-held personal communication
devices). He returned to Sun just over 4 years ago.
