JiniTM
System Software 1.0 Product Site on the JDC
Sun's Jini technology provides mechanisms for hardware devices
or software components called services, to automatically join
together on a network. Underneath the Jini services architecture
is a fully functional distributed computing platform built on the
JavaTM language.
The JDC provides a central location for accessing and downloading
JiniTM System Software code. Here

JiniTM Systems Software 1.0
Product Offerings Now Available on the JDC
Product offerings include the JiniTM
Starter Kit: the Jini Technology Core Platform; the Jini Technology
Extended Platform; and the Jini Software Kit. Also available is the
JavaSpacesTM Technology Kit, which
provides an implementation of the JavaSpaces service and the Jini
Technology Compatibility Kit. To access these components, see

JavaTM Advanced Imaging
API 3 released
The JavaTM Advanced Imaging API extends
the Java platform by allowing sophisticated, high-performance image
processing to be incorporated in Java applets and applications. The
API implements a set of core image processing capabilities, such as
image tiling, regions of interest, and deferred execution. The software
also provides a set of standard image processing operators, including
many common point, area, and frequency domain operators.

PersonalJavaTM Emulation
Environment 3.0 released
A development environment for verifying that the
PersonalJavaTM applets and applications
you develop using the the JavaTM
Development Kit will run in the PersonalJava application environment.
