Yahoo! Invites Makes Getting Together with Friends Easy!

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Jan. 11, 1999 - Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company, today introduced the latest addition to its network of branded properties, Yahoo!® Invites (http://invites.yahoo.com). A fun and simple way to plan parties, events and any group gathering, Yahoo! Invites offers a customizable, private Web page that serves as a central meeting place to plan get-togethers. Yahoo! Invites virtually eliminates the need for follow-up phone calls and e-mails.

"Yahoo! Invites is a great way for people to use the Internet to help organize events," said Thad White, producer for Yahoo! Invites. "Whether there are five or 500 participants, Yahoo! Invites takes the hassle out of event planning. Yahoo! Invites gives people who are planning events and their invitees customizable, easy-to-use Web tools to get detailed information for and communicate with each other about upcoming events. We've made it easy for people to use Yahoo! as a way to bring friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances together online and offline."

Start the Party Online
Yahoo! Invites lets people communicate with each other to determine everything they need to know about a planned event, whether an intimate gathering or a large college reunion. People can use Yahoo! Invites by simply setting up a guest list of invitees and opting to send each of them a link to their Yahoo! Invites Web page. From there, guests RSVP and, depending upon the host's preferences, see who else is coming or send an invitation to someone else. Yahoo! Invites also includes a message board so guests and the host can post notes to each other about the event they will be attending - what to bring, how to dress, or share their thoughts on who they think will win the big game!

Make it Personal
To get started, Yahoo! Invites allows users to set up their own custom events for birthday parties, meetings or Sunday afternoon football game get-togethers. After choosing from one of several event categories, or starting with a blank invite, users can add extra detail to give the Invite their own personal flair. Customization options include everything from selecting a background color to adding a personal photo, or users can add images from the gallery. Users also can select whether guests have access to the entire guest list, or just have personal communication with the host.

By using their free Yahoo! ID and password, registered Yahoo! users will be able to manage all their Yahoo! Invites from one page. Each event that they have created or been invited to will be displayed on the My Invites section of the Yahoo! Invites start page.

Integrated with Yahoo!
Yahoo! Invites takes advantage of many of Yahoo!'s powerful services including adding directions using Yahoo! Maps (http://maps.yahoo.com) and the ability to add events with one click to a Yahoo! Calendar (http://calendar.yahoo.com), Yahoo!'s popular personal calendar product.

Yahoo! Invites is part of Yahoo!'s comprehensive suite of communications services, which aims to give users everything they need to communicate via the Web. From free e-mail to greeting cards, from instant messaging to mobile communications, Yahoo!'s integrated services provide a personal communications platform for users to stay in touch with their friends, loved ones, and professional networks from home, work and on the road.
