Addition of PDA-Style RIM 857 Wireless Handheld
for Motient's Consumer-Focused Offering Allows Access to Yahoo!
Services on Both Palm-Size and Wearable Devices
LAS VEGAS - March 20, 2001 - Motient Corporation (Nasdaq:
MTNT), a leading provider of a wide range of two-way mobile and
Internet communications services, today announced at the CTIA
Wireless 2001 show being held this week in Las Vegas, that the
company's eLinkSM service Fortified with Yahoo! will soon be
available on the RIM 857 Wireless Handheld™ from Research
In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM).
With the addition of the RIM 857™, consumers will be able
to use the wireless service that provides immediate access to
Yahoo! content and services via Motient's nationwide wireless
data network on both this palm-sized device, as well as on the
wearable RIM 850™ Wireless Handheld. The service is being
demonstrated on the RIM 857 during the industry trade show March
20-22, 2001, in booth number 6409.

The eLink service that is Fortified with Yahoo! is an innovative
offering that provides consumers wireless access to a Mobile
WAP Browser and a variety of Yahoo! services, including Yahoo!®
Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Address Book and Yahoo! Calendar,
as well as Yahoo! Alerts.
The eLink service Fortified with Yahoo! will be available on
the RIM 857 in the second quarter 2001. The service will be available
for purchase through Micro Center retail stores across the country,
and online at www.elinkhere.com
and www.outpost.com.
