Intel Corp. shipped some 810 chipsets that were bad. The 810 chipset includes an embedded graphics processor. The chipsets with the problem cause systems using them to not boot properly. Those systems that do boot will only show VGA mode (640x480).

Intel has found the cause of the problem and has now fixed it. However, many motherboard manufacturers have not started mass production of motherboards using this chipset.

ROB'S OPINION
Just beware of those early versions of the 810. Personally, I hate systems with embedded chips for just this reason. What do you do if you encounter this problem? Well, you've got to take your entire computer apart and replace the motherboard. What a pain.

Embedded graphics suck.
