Java^TM Technology Standardization

Introduction

In April 1999, Sun Microsystems, Inc. proposed to formally standardize the Java^TM technology in ECMA, a formal standards developing body.

On December 7, 1999 Sun issued a press release announcing the withdrawl of the proposal from ECMA. Please see that release for details.
