DECnet for Linux

A project to provide DECnet phase IV connectivity for Linux

Pre-built X-Servers

The Intel X-servers were built from XFree86 3.3.6 sources on a Debian 2.2 system and are suitable for Intel systems running RedHat 6.0 or later and Debian 2.2 or later.
The Alpha ones were built from XFree86 3.3.2 sources on RedHat 5.1 and should work on that platform.
The SPARC ones were built on RedHat 5.2 from the source RPM for that distribution.

I have only tested the Intel S3 and SVGA servers and the SPARC Xsun server. I have tested none of the Alpha ones. They are built from the same modified source tree as the Intel ones so should be fine. if you try an Alpha X-server please let me know how you get on.

To Install

Identify the X-server you are using:

For RedHat 5
$ ls -l /etc/X11/X

For Debian 2
$ head /etc/X11/Xserver

You should see a reference to a file called XF86_<something> (or probably Xsun for SPARCstations). Take a backup copy of that file and then download a replacement from the list below. when you have downloaded the file gunzip it and copy it into place in /usr/X11R6/bin. You will need to be root to do this.
