How are you creating the montage image?

We are now using Juggle, by Michael Troebs. LIMP is deeply indebted to him. His software is free under the GPL and implemented in 100% pure Java. All new pre-release (pre-1330 and above) and release candidates will be produced using Juggle.

For LIMP versions less-than pre-1330, we used ArcSoft's PhotoMontage for Windows. We discontinued use of this program for technical, legal, and philisophical reasons.

How can you use the GIMP to make a montage images?

You can get the "photo-mosaic" package that creates LIMP-like output in a native GIMP plug-in. You can get the "photo-mosaic" GIMP plug-in here.

What makes this server "go?"

We use a myriad of Apache magic to make this thing work. Currently we use the following things:

• The GIMP
• Juggle, by Michael Troebs
• And, a host of awk, shell, and expect scripts to get it all done!
