| To use certain applications, apparently DOOM, for example, using X, you must have the X11R5 X libraries.
How does one (a) obtain this (I for one cannot figure out which if any version of XFree86 would contain it), and (b) install it without wreaking havoc with the more modern version you are running?
The answer to this question (i.e., how to install needed, but older libraries specific to one application without screwing up the rest) will help with several situations.
