I recommend you buy one of the cheap linux CDs from
www.cheapbytes.com. Try RedHat linux - its pretty easy to
install and the disk will only cost you a few $s.

OK well try ftp://ftp.redhat.com/redhat/redhat-6.1/i386/
But it's about 500Mb which is a pretty big download and
you will have the problem of where to put it and how to
install off it. With a CD you just stick it in the drive
and follow Redhat's instructions...
If you know what you are doing you can do an ftp install
but if you're a novice I wouldn't recommend it.
