Chicken Little Sings his Hits!

Featuring 12 different versions of his hit song "The sky is falling!" This is the new album we've all been waiting for! And it's available in stores now!

I can't help but think that the current state of popular music is the simple regurgitation of other hits. If I tune into a Top-40 radio station or MTV, I hear the same 50-70 songs, most of which sound the same.

The music industry isn't about music anymore. It's about money. It's not really an industry at all, it's a business just like any other.Teen idol groups like N'Sync and BackStreet Boys are really just a reincarnation of New Kids on the Block. The Spice Girls are the 90's version of the Go-Go's or the Bangles.

And for the most part, if you have the right hairdo, and the right attitude, you can be a star! Sprite tells us, "Image is Nothing." They're dead wrong! Image is everything.

The interesting thing is that record execs have failed to supply the successful "white male" rock. At this years Grammy's the women clearly dominated. Hip Hop and Rap have emerged in it's absence as well, where as in the early 90's several bands, such as the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden were the most popular.

Good music is still out there. Radiohead, I feel, is producing some of the best music today. I also enjoy listening to Bjork, her three major albums Debut, Post, and Homogenic are all great. A group that has recently come to my attention is Massive Attack. They're what has been dubbed Trip-Hop, but I think of their music as a cross between Sarah Mclachlan and the Beastie Boys. Beck is another artist who continually produces great music. His songs "Loser" (with the great line, "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me") and "Where It's At" crack me up!

But do keep an ear open for Chicken Little's hit, "The Sky is Falling", it'll be hard to avoid. He's on the radio an average of 2-3 times every 3 hours, the video is in heavy rotation on MTV and VH1, and the cover of next months Rolling Stone and Spin. The execs say he's got "star quality".
