OpenIL Installer Up
01:40 8/14/2000
JayJay

At long last, if you wish to install OpenIL and don't wish to mess with the source this is your answer, the installer will find and create the necessary directories and copy the binary files for you, grab it here.

OpenIL 1.5.8
01:57 8/13/2000
JayJay

1.5.8 has been released with the following changes and fixes. Get it here.

- Fixed a major bug in ilTexSubImage2D_().
- Renamed ilTexSubImage2D() and ilTexSubImage2D_() to ilTexSubImage() and ilTexSubImage_(), respectively.
- ilClearImage now uses the correct error code.
- Fixed a bug in ilTexImage_() that sets IL_OUT_OF_MEMORY, even when there is plenty of memory, thanks to ABee.
- Fixed bugs in the ilCopyPixels family that dealt with not calculating the offsets correctly and added error-checking to them to make sure the caller wasn't requesting dimensions too large.
- Replaced all the 4x4 filter matrices with 3x3 filter matrices.
- Added ilColoursUsed().
- Added iluPixelize().
- Changed ilColoursUsed() to use a hash table, but it's still pretty damn slow...
- Added ilHint().
- Added ilutGetHPal().
- Added ilClearColour() and changed ilClearImage() to use the values passed to it.
- Optimized ilColoursUsed() by using a totally different algorithm (quicksort).
- Fixed ilConvertImage(GL_LUMINANCE) when the source was a bgr(a) image.

OpenIL 1.5.7a
01:07 8/10/2000
JayJay

Fetch 1.5.7 now. This feature includes filters and other spiffy features such as...
- Added some support for 1-bit .bmp's.
- 16-bit targa files are now converted to 24-bit on-the-fly.
- Fixed a bug in iReadUnmapTga() where it only read 24-bit targas.
- Added iluVersion() and ilutVersion().
- Added ILUT_OPENGL_CONV to ilut to be enforced in ilutOglFormat() in ilut/opengl.c.
- Started enforcing IL_CONV_PAL (automatically converts palette'd images to unmapped images).
- Added checks for IL_ORIGIN_SET to more image formats.
- Moved ilMirrorImage() and ilNegativeImage() to ilu from il.
- Added iluEnlargeCanvas().
- Fixed a bug in ilCopyPixels2D() and ilCopyPixels3D() when the destination was not the same size as the source.
- Added iluCropImage2D() and iluCropImage3D().
- Fixed a stupid bug in iluNegativeImage().
- Changed a lot of ilu function names from iluxxxImage to iluxxx - the Image part was sorta redundant, as this *is* an image lib.
- Added filter.c and everything within.

JayJay

Sorry that I ended up being away with so many releases in between, work got the best of me and last night I was hanging out and my friend and I played some insane dreamcast action until 5:45 am, hadn't had that much fun in awhile. Played some rush 2049 (demo disc, hey it was a free rental) and marvel vs. capcom 2. Hadn't touched the dreamcast before last night, very impressive stuff although I intend to save my money for the psx2 release this October, all that aside pick up OpenIL 1.4.6a here.

New Downloads

JayJay

Another version of the installer has been uploaded, this one includes a better readme file so check it out. Unfortunately last night my hd bit the big golden bullet as of my fault, long story but short result. It inadvertantly wiped one of my linux drives and my 10GB partition on my 20GB Western Digital ata/66 HD. I didn't loose anything crucial (since doomwiz is the primary author anyway) except for some mp3's and my very small progress on the linux version (which i didn't have backed up at all). Right now I am single booting NT and don't know when i will get around to installing linux (soon hopefully). Until then perhaps someone else might take it under their wing? If so contact me or Doomwiz.

Downloads Up

Please give us time to get everything working all smooth and happy as we will slowly move to a more "automated" site design. Thanks for your patience and download OpenIL and start playing with it now!
