Mesa3D.ORG - The Mesa 3-D graphics library needed a home, and we were glad to help out. They were one of the first projects to be on on.openprojects.net. See the mesa3d site. Brian, do you have a smaller logo? This one is scrunching our table.

rtlinux.com - Rtlinux is a version of the Linux Operating System, enhanced to support hard realtime control programs. RTLinux supports realtime interrupt handlers and realtime periodic tasks with interrupt latencies and scheduling jitter close to the hardware limits. FreeSpeech - FreeSpeech is a free (GPL) speech recognition project for Linux (or any other UNIX flavor). It will be designed so that it can be easily integrated into any application or window manager as well as the KDE and GNOME desktop environments.

Amanda.org - Amanda is a high-performance network backup package that runs on many Unix platforms. Amanda uses the vendors dump, GNU Tar, or Samba to stream backups from dozens of workstations and servers to a single tape or a large tape jukebox. Used at hundreds of large sites around the world.

FreeNet - Freenet is a completely new way to distribute information over the Internet in a manner that makes censorship of any kind difficult or even impossible. It achieves this by making computers on the Internet operate together as an anarchy without any central control or administration. Anybody with an IP address may participate in this network simply by running a Freenet client on their computer.

NILO - NILO is the Network Interface Loader. NILO will boot Linux, FreeBSD, Windows 95/98/NT4 over a network connection, and supports the Intel PXE standard. It is suitable for burning into ROM, will boot off of a floppy, or can be loaded by LILO. It is an evolution of the previous Etherboot and Netboot projects.

DejaGnu - DejaGnu is a framework for testing other programs. Its purpose is to provide a single front end for all tests. Think of it as a custom library of Tcl procedures crafted to support writing a test harness. A Test Harness is the testing infrastructure that is created to support a specific program or tool. Each program can have multiple test suites, all supported by a single test harness. DejaGnu is written in Expect, which in turn uses Tcl -- Tool command language.

DBXML - dbXML is a DBMS written to optimize the storage, retrieval, querying and relational management of XML-based documents. XML reduces the need for one to many relationships by providing such relations as part of a document s internal structure. This greatly reduces the number of Cartesian products that have to be generated in performing a query, and thus streamlines and accelerates the querying process.

CEPS - CEPS, the Cisco enterprise print system, is a collection of tools an utilities designed to work together to create a highly scalable, robust printing environment for a medium to large corporation. It is not a printing system that it is of much use to an individual. The tools are designed to optimize the management of large numbers of printers and would be cumbersome for someone who only has a handful of printers to administer.

Gzilla - Gzilla is a web browser written in the Gtk+ framework. It's still in early alpha, but you might have fun playing with it anyway. Gzilla hosts their mailing list here.

SVLUG - The Silicon Valley Linux User Group (SVLUG) is the oldest and one of the largest Linux user groups in the world. It's a group of Linux hobbyists, professionals and enthusiasts in the vicinity of San Jose, California, which is also internationally known as Silicon Valley.

Linux International - Linux International is a non-profit organization, residing physically in the United States, however our organization is made up of many people contributing from all areas of the globe. We distribute information about Linux, and how it will benefit business and personal users, reserve places at major computer expos, and accept donations to distribute to programmers who need money to test out applications.

Debian - Debian is a free, or Open Source, operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. At the core of an operating system is the kernel. The kernel is the most fundamental program on the computer, does all the basic housekeeping and lets you start other programs. Debian is kernel independent. It currently uses the Linux kernel but work is in progress to provide Debian for other kernels, using Hurd.
