Blah, blah, me, blah, myself, yadda, and, yadda, and, I.
Here's an e-mail address thewah@uswest.net. How many email addresses do you have? Here's another...
Oooh, oohh, I got this ICQ thing, and it's really neat, and I've got my own number and it's 29583326, if you're curious. I think my nick is "Wah" or something.

August 8, 2000 : To truck or not to truck : 9:58 p.m.
So anyway, I haven't had a car for a good long while. This is both a reason of circumstance and one of choice. I've been blessed with a job that is quite close to my home and have a roughly 6 minute walk to work every morning. So I've been able to live without a car (the store is 5 minutes in the other direction, and the bars are 4) for a good long while. But it's become a bit annoying, so I decided to buy one. As someone who took on the attitude of Ed in regards to student loans...getting out from under of bad credit sucks ass. Or more to the point, it feels like you have to suck ass to get out of it. So I think I'll take a week in Cabo to think about it.... :-)
July 30, 2000 : One hundred-thousands punches, err, hits : 4:42 p.m.
I dunno if you've ever seen this page, but it tells me some stuff about who came by. And today it said "100564 hits", so that's how many I've taken. I've had to reboot the server twice in that time. Once because I let netscape leak for a bit (two and half months), and another time because I...I think I did something wrong, anyway, the servers have been happy, uswest has provided adequate service, and now we're taking it to the next step. Hmmm, while I was looking up how much money this had made for me, I ran into this page (9). Congrats to my corporate partner! So far I've "made" $8.85. And I pay around $80/mo in bandwidth for a business account so I can run servers. Materials are all old and decrepit, and my time is my own.
In the next little bit I will be expanding the commercial section, and re-writing it. Then I'll set up encrypted servers and charge $20 for keys. Nah, just kidding. Maybe someday, when I decide to sell-out. Shoud be any day now. hehe. (and yes I do know that a third of the hits have been from one file)
July 24, 2000 : Laugh at yourself, now!! : 7:03 p.m.
OK, so I'm doing a quick vanity search. I figure my life will be nearly complete when I can go to google, type "wah", hit "I'm feeling lucky" and end up back here. I used to be there...but that's another story, anyway, with a large part of China now attached to the Internet, I don't stand much of a chance. BUT, I did find this rather interesting fella (8), and he's even a doctor. ;)
July 20, 2000 : No NYC for you!! : 9:58 p.m.
Well, I've been doing a bunch of thinking lately. A friend of mine gave me an opportunity to move to the Big Apple with him. It was tempting (especially since it's part of the ultimate plan..kinda..), but ultimately I'm just not ready to move out of Colorado yet. Maybe it's the wonderful weather, the nice hippies, or the "fun" job, whatever, I'm just not ready to pick up and move....yet.... Currently I'm looking forward to what now seems to be an annual visit to Cabo San Lucas, 21 mo' days till 8^). hehe.
July 9, 2000 : Mary Keith Mitchell Nov 15, 1915-July 5, 2000 : 1:58 a.m
My grandma died. It's o.k. Seriously, she wanted to. My mom (one of eight surviving kids) actually made a joke about it during a talk at the ceremony. Grandma (a Mormon, like the rest o' my family) had been praying to finally go and be with her husband, who had passed eight years previous. Finally, she got an answer, "quit beggin', it's not your time yet." Well, her time finally came. I laughed, I cried, I paid respects. She's now in the ground next to Brig, under wondrous Timpanogas (6) mountain (the cave's at the top).
I did get to see her a couple months ago. When my youngest sister got married...she told me then, how good it was to see me, how handsome I was....and that she was ready to die. It was a common topic for her. The Human Genome Project (7) made it's first major step this last month, I can already tell you something the next level of data is going to find, optimistic cynicism, procrastination, and stubbornness are all heredity. I love you Grandma, rest in peace.
(oh yeah, just passed 10k visitors, although I think someone is just leaching the Phish stuff, hope they like it :-)
June 1, 2000 : 1 Over 7,208 served : 7:27 p.m
And 1 over 10 gb served. It's been fun. I'm watching the National Spelling Bee. Geeks, every one. I won the sixth grade spelling bee at Mohawk Elementary School (4) back around '87 (one of the kids in the contest, 13 yrs old, designed his school's website..he just lost on ROSEMALING:( ) Round 8, four contestants remaing. We pick up the action.
The password is ~MORCEAU~ Prounounciation, French, "Does it contain the Latin root mors? meaning peace?" Judge: "Ummm, never heard of that, nope." hehe. Repeat the definition. The suspense builds...M-O-R-C-E-A-U. Correct.
The password is ~The next young man was not so lucky. Latin root. Definition. He plays the sax. Repeat the word.....FORCIFIFORM?? correct. (I couldn't even follow it. The kid knew it.)
O.k. these kids are dang smart. WAY smarter than I was. I lost at the District level. Hats off to all of them. Perfect round 9. Four for Four. 901 words. We are live.
The girl just lost. VENIRE. The final three were all home schooled. Go figure. I think Southpark explained that one.
Did you know the Internet is a phrontistery? (The kid did or at least how to spell it) I can't find it in either of the two dictionaries I use online. Not much of a phrontistery now is it? hehe.
Round 14. My life is apotropaic, I now know. He replaced the second o with a y, misplacing the root culture of the word using tryppa (Greek), instead of trope (Latin). Both mean "evil". Homeschooled kids just don't know about evil. Let this be a lesson to you.
George going for the gold. 4th in 98. 3rd in 99. First in 2000. He was second is the Geography Bee.
I would tell you his full name, but he is under the age of 13. The COPPA (5) won't allow that. And if it had
passedstuck, I'd have to password protect this fuckin' site, if you catch that drift. Woohoo!
April 6, 2000 : Over 1,000 served : 11:15 p.m
Today was the day I hit it. Over 1,000 individuals have visited my site. Of course, that has a whole lot to do with prolific posting on /., they just get mad traffic over there. I am going to continue with the personal advertising angle. Maybe I should spend some time on a few other boards..nah. Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone who drops by, "Hello". And one more thing, why hasn't she called?
April 2, 2000 : "..and we'll party till we vest." : 8:50 p.m.
I'd like to give a shout out to all the people I got to party with down in Boulder (if any of you drop by, send me URLS). I know that none of you had any idea who I was, but you were all cool anyway. The stirring rendition of Friends in Low Places (2) was topped only by the particiapation of 3 of Denver's finest home entertainment systems ;). Not only that, I got to go to this (3) , which made for a nice full weekend. Oh and all the talk about EQ sold me on it. Now me play game.
March 22, 2000 : And it grows... : 11:00 p.m.
Hey look a website. So it's up. I still can't get here from my box at work. I don't know what the deal is, I can ping my Wintendo, so I can get on the local subnet, but for some reason I can't touch the server. Weird. Been busy as all hell at work, makes it tough to come home and do more of the same, but this part is fun! I've got some log analysis (1) tools setup, but I crapped out on a couple polling scripts. Anybody got a couple weeks they could lend me?
March 5, 2000 : O.k. now it's really up : 10:58 p.m.
Jumped the gun a bit there. Now it's time to get started on the hard stuff. I can't decide which to add next. Radio station, message boards, or webcam. If you read this page, let me know what you want, otherwise I'll be flipping a coin. Oh yeah, and I'm gonna post the Phish show. That should get a bit of traffic, see if I can't overwhelm the server :-).
February 29, 2000 : The rarest day in the last month or so : 11:22 p.m.
Yes, it happened, finally. I would hope that only a few of you out there can appreciate the fine sharpness of frustration that these "computers" can cause a thinking being. Sometimes it just feels like they are fighting you, personally. When every step along the way is a pitfall, you know the path you have chosen..um..sucks, pretty much. Seriously though, I've learned a lot. Not really about hardware, I already knew most of that, but about Linux. That's been the joy that keeps me going forward. Ooh and I got Flash too, which I think is just dandy. It will be making an appearance soon(tm). So now I know linuxconf and rpm and a bunch of other stuff that I won't really know until I break something else, but let me tell you what I love....tab-complete. It was like finding a long lost lover. I had used it a little before, but it wasn't until I had to dig (not too far, don't wanna cut any water mains) that I loved it. I wish I had learned this stuff at school when I had days upon days to forget about the outside world. Oh, and what happened was I finally got this site back up. :-)
January 22, 2000 : The first Entrie : 10:58 a.m.
um, hello. Just got up, late night. Drinkin', dancing, sexual frustration, gotta love it. Been meaning to start this page for a while, but I'm still not sure how to do it, so I'll just play it by fingers. I actually need to get to work today and the get this website back online. It's been down now for about two weeks, and I've added a bunch of new crap, including this.
