Daniel Janal writes: I think the most interesting point about Art u Frame is that in a relatively short period of time, they built a turnkey infrastructure for somone to buy. They created relationship with distribitors, etc. Implemented a successful affiliate program. The key piece was their purchase of art.com just a short time ago for $400,000. All the pieces were in place. I applaud them. RE: Banner ads. I was an early critic of banner ads, but two points must be made: 1. Banners might actually help build brand image. Even if 99.9 percent of the people don't click through, the ads are seen. This could be an opportunity for branding (Volvo Means Safety). 2. Banners linked to keyword buys on the search engines should be effective. I haven't seen any stats on this, but my logic meter says if someone is looking for "garden" on Yahoo and sees the ad for "garden.com" they'll click. Garden.com, by the way, is a pheomenal site, with great interacive ads. All the best, Dan P.S. I'm thinking about writing and self publishing a book about auctions. Can I give you a call to get your impressions? -- Daniel Janal Author, Speaker, Online Marketing Consultant -- ********************************************************* Dana Blankenhorn responds: Thanks for reading, and writing.
