NoX First Hand Accounts - [ Hamma | 12:50 PM EST ] Westwood Nation was
lucky enough to get one of their staff to the NoX preview event in Seattle
Washington. He will be throwing up a large report in the coming weeks on what he
saw, Including pictures. Here is an excerpt of what he had to say so far:
Aaron Cohen and Chris Rubyen came to Seattle with a
stack of CDs and installed their game on a group of machines in the Wizards of
the Coast Gaming Center. They rotated four groups through playing the single
player and multiplayer of a 3/4 overhead "Diablo clone" that differs
too much to be accurately compared with it. I was the first person to play the
game there, lucky me, and ended up playing with a machine that had a monitor
too dark and a blown set of headphones. But whatever the situation was, the
game was still impressive.

This is the same game as Road Rash: Unchained, which
we had previewed once long ago, but EA has gone back to the drawing boards on
this one and reworked the story line and general lay-out of how the game
works. You are now not a lone rasher -- you are part of a sadomasochistic gang
looking to win races and battle rivals in an attempt to free your jailed buddy

tell some pig jokes to the boys whose skulls you have just cracked open with

News! - [ Toad | 4:34 PM EST ] That was a shocking topic wasn't it? This post is a wrap up of some of the latest news about games from Westwood Studios. Here we go!
Diablo2.com had a mega preview of Nox. Here is a small part of it.Introduction to Nox:
To try to tell a Diablo II fan what Nox is like, much less tell someone who is not even a fan of Diablo is about the most difficult thing I have had to do in some time now. What Nox is in a word, Different? Yes, different. In addition, most certainly, Nox is different from Diablo/Diablo II by a long shot. In fact, the only things that they share are their perspective on the game and some subtle story similarities. Other than that, Nox is a game on it's own, taking the infancy of the third-person isometric Action-RPG genre and giving it something different, emphasizing more on the action and heat-of-the-moment stuff rather than the development of ones character and furthering of the story.
You can now play Tiberian Sun on Heat.net. This is interesting because TS was only supposed to be supported by westwood online. Go to Heat.net for more info
The Nox Battle Clan Page is up. Also Westwood has released the Fan Site Kit for all you Nox fans who want to make a page about it. Here is what they had to say about the fankitWe're pleased to announce the release of our official NOX FAN SITE KIT. Now, you can create your own NOX related fansite for cool prizes (coming soon). Those sites that meet our requirements listed in the downloadable kit will be listed here on the official site. Get started, because the judging will begin soon! Ultima Ascension FAQ - [ Hamma | 4:27 PM EST ] Blues News has posted a FAQ on Ultima IX. It deals with a bunch of technical
issues, and how to fix them. From software problems, to hardware problems, its

UO2 Site Updated - [ Hamma | 2:07 PM EST ] The official Ultima Online 2 site has been updated with an updater from the
game's producer, Starr Long. Here is an excerpt:
Welcome to my very first UO2 Producer letter. Let me
start with a little info about myself. I started at Origin seven years ago in
Quality Assurance working on Ultima VII: Part 2 Serpent Isle. From there I
worked on several other projects and most recently, I was the Project Director
on Ultima Online during development and first six months of its release. It is
my sincere hope that all we learned on UO will help to make UO2 the best
online experience there is. Of course, it is the UO2 team that will make this
game truly great. I have to tell you, I've never worked with a smarter, more
creative, harder working (and loony) bunch of people in my entire life.
I'm thrilled with how UO2 is shaping up; in fact, I
can't wait to play it myself. There are so many things about this project that
I'm excited about. One of those is the move to 3D, which gives us all sorts of
new options. Options like skeletal animation and motion capture that increase
the number and detail level of the motions for the avatars. We have tons of
fluid and lifelike combat strokes and social moves (wave, bow, curtsey, etc.)
that will really make your character feel alive.
the letter. And also the site has updated its UO2 FAQ. You can check that out here.

C&C: Renegade Interview - [ SpecOpsHoov | 11:46 AM EST ] The dudes over at PC Fan have had a chance to interview Aaron Cohen about Westwood's upcoming first person shooter; Renegade. Here's a piece of the interview:
PCFan: Could you explain how the mission briefings are conveyed throughout the singleplayer missions? Will it be a talking head briefing from "dad" (General Sheppard) or come in the form of a combination of the Tiberian Sun style briefings with both a situation room-style and a tactical 3d map display?
Aaron Cohen: All the story elements will happen within the game engine. There might be some high-res CG, but no live FMV. So, you'll see our hero talking and interacting and getting information within the same engine you'll be playing the game.
PCFan: Dare I mention the killer words "release" and "date"?
Aaron Cohen: Here are some killer words right back atcha..."Fall or winter, next year." Sorry I can't be more specific.
PCFan: Are there many members from the original C&C series (such as C&C, Redalert, TS) working on Renegade as well?
Aaron Cohen: Brett Sperry, who invented the whole world of C&C, is as involved as ever. Most of the C&C designers are busy on the Firestorm T-Sun expansion pack, but they are a big help with the C&C lore and mythology.
There you have it! This is the longest interview with Aaron Cohen I've seen yet, so click here for the rest!
