Experience Walking the Advanced Illness Road
The FairCare Program is a step-by-step guide to preserving your dignity, your choice, and your inner peace at the end of life. Dr. Tobin's site and book, Peaceful Dying, offers a roadmap through the dark, foreboding terrain of terminal illness.

Too often people do not have the support they need in facing the personal issues that surround advancing illness. The FairCare Program provides the practical tools to make this happen, highlighting the relationship between understanding the nature of facing advanced illness and searching for meaning in life and peaceful dying.
"Here
at whatever hour
you come,
you will find light
and help
and human kindness."

"Dr. Dan Tobin's New Model to Enhance End-of-Life Care"
FairCare is a practical, step-by-step guide to preserving your dignity, your choice and your inner peace in advanced illness and at the end of life.
The FairCare Program embraces the following concepts:
  • Dying is a natural part of living.
  • Peaceful dying, which can be defined as an outcome, is something we all want for ourselves and our loved ones.
  • To secure peaceful dying a reasonable amount of preparation and effort is essential.
  • Whenever possible, it is important to identify when an illness changes from a disease to a dying process, in order to shift medical care from a curative approach to one emphasizing measures taken to increase comfort.
  • Suicide is not a creative or wise solution to our cultural search for good end of life care.
