Government CIO Summit
FCW Government Technology Group established the Government CIO Summit series as a semi-annual venue to help foster a community of CIOs and their peers at all levels of government. This event attracts representatives from most federal civil agencies, all the military services, several states and some of the largest U.S. cities and counties. The mission of the Summit series is to support government executives in managing information technology investments for results. The inaugural 1996 event successfully achieved a specific goal of identifying and substantiating critical success factors for government CIOs, building on lessons learned from industry.

The Federal 100 Supplement profiles the 100 people nominated by FCW readers who have made a difference in the way agencies and companies develop, acquire and manage information technology in the federal arena. Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges and honored at a black tie dinner.
