15-Second Bio: Daily news miner Dave Marino-Nachison (TMF Braden) named himself after "Slap Shot's" Ned, the goal-scoring idealist who had a love-hate relationship with his hockey coach, the gritty Reg Dunlap (Paul Newman in an appalling leather suit). He joined the Fool after stints with Dow Jones' Federal Filings newswire and a small daily newspaper in Manassas, Virginia. Himself something of an idealist, David enjoys loud conversations about pop music, soccer, human mating behavior and the state of journalism over pints of ale. He should really read more and plans to do so soon. Spicy food is not a problem for Dave, who is a Washington, D.C. native but was born in Wilmington, Del. The hospital in which he was born has since been torn down.

Having covered the retail industry in a past life, David loves to write about retail companies, such as Horizon Pharmacies or The Gap.
But most of the time he can be found penning the Foolish news, interviewing corporate bigwigs for StockTalk and sneaking off to hang out on message boards like those for Abercrombie & Fitch, Network Solutions and, uh… Anheuser-Busch.
