Security and experience go hand-in-hand. IRE provided the first commercial VPN solution in 1995, and we’ve been leading the security industry since 1983. Our customers include more than 1500 banks, the FBI, U.S. Treasury, embassies and Fortune 100 companies worldwide.

IRE is also an alliance partner of ICSA's "Alliance for Internet Security" program.  ICSA is dedicated to promoting the development and awareness of the customer service profession through networking, education and research.

The Company

Founded in 1983 by a group of data security professionals, IRE, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, provides enterprise network security systems that use encryption technology to protect private and public computer networks, such as the Internet. IRE’s comprehensive network security systems emphasize standards-based security, cost-effectiveness and ease of use in the protection of remote access, electronic commerce and distributed business communication applications throughout the world.

Now that we've reached the Year 2000, IRE employs more than 130 VPN security experts and professionals.  IRE maintains a corporate division called Gretacoder Data Systems (GDS) in Switzerland, an OEM embedded technology division in Boston, and 6 regional offices located across the country.
