An organization made up of Washington, D.C., lobbyists, computer industry groups and corporations is urging members of the U.S. Congress to speed up appropriations for domestic security and warning that delays in funding leave the nation vulnerable.

The Homeland Security Industries Association (HSIA) sponsored a breakfast Thursday and briefed congressional staff on the HSIA and its position on a variety of domestic security issues.

Representatives of 27 HSIA member organizations in addition to senior staff from the organization attended the breakfast, according to HSIA President Bruce Aitken, an attorney at the law firm of Aitken Irvin Berlin & Vrooman, which lobbies lawmakers on issues concerning transportation and technology.
