ISO Prolog Standard

To access the Prolog standard drafts here, you will need either a Postcript viewer such as Ghostview or a dvi viewer such as xdvi to read the parts of the draft standard, or you may download the sources with ftp.

The ISO Prolog Standard is being developed in two quasi-independent sections: Parts I and II. Part I covers most everything except modules, and has been voted into Draft International Standard status. The text of this final Part I draft standard is not yet available. The ISO main page has an entry for the ISO Catalogue, which contains entries on how to place orders and entries for International Standards which leads to ISO/IEC 13211-1:1995 Information technology -- Programming languages -- Prolog -- Part 1: General core>. However, the core of Part I, with minor editorial changes, is available below.

Part II of the standard (under preparation by X3J17), deals with modules and is in what might be called "pre-draft standard form": it has not yet been voted into draft standard status, but much work has been invested, and many people feel this version is close to acceptance. Working draft Version WD8.1, as prepared by the ANSI committee, X3J17, is available below.

Compressed (gzip/zip/hqx) versions of all of these (in either postscript or Acrobat (.pdf) form) are available for FTP download of standards documents.
