Join the Python Consortium

The consortium is self-supporting through membership fees. We invite organizations (companies, universities, research labs, etc.) to join the founding members and make the consortium a success.

As described in Appendix 1 to the consortium agreement (below), there are three membership categories.

Full Member:
Contribution $25,000 per year. Open to all organizations.

Affiliate Member:
Contribution $10,000 per year. Open to organizations with gross revenues up to $75 million per year.

Associate Member:
Contribution $3,000 per year. Open to organizations with gross revenues up to $25 million per year.

The consortium agreement is online:

  • Member Agreement: (HTML, MS-Word)

  • Appendix 1 - description and procedures: (HTML, MS-Word)

  • Note: on Sept. 30, the then-current consortium members (LLNL, Digital Creations, Interet and Foretec) unanimously voted to remove the 6 month wait period between releases to consortium members and releases to the general public in section 9 of Appendix 1. This change has also been ratified by the new members who joined since that date but before the modified Appendix was available from this website. The modified Appendix is now available from the above links.

For more information write to Guido van Rossum (Technical Director) or Albert Vezza (Executive Director).
