| Description |
 | Elixir IDE is a programmer's editor targetted at professional Java developers. The tool was coded entirely in Java using the Java Foundation Classes (Swing) and runs on any Java 1.1 development platform, including Linux. The IDE provides a flexible architecture with interfaces to compilers (JDK 1.1, JDK 1.2 and Jikes interfaces provided), scripting engines (Scheme interface provided) and version control systems (RCS interface provided). Additional features include: syntax colouring for Java, HTML, TCL and Scheme, an integrated HTML browser for viewing help files such as Java APIs, unlimited undo-redo, collapsable code blocks (like a tree view within your source code) for easy navigation as well as a novel file status indicator which reflects the compilation and lock status of each file in the project. The Elixir IDE is intended for ?serious? application development projects (like the Elixir IDE itself, which was developed with itself since version 0.3). These projects typically require upwards of 100 files. |
