Priority Update Information

The Priority Update service is available to registered customers of the following products:

  • Official Red Hat Linux 6.0 (excluding Core) — 180 days of Priority Updates

  • Official Red Hat Linux 6.1 Standard — 30 days of Priority Updates

  • Official Red Hat Linux 6.1 Deluxe — 180 days of Priority Updates

  • Official Red Hat Linux 6.1 Professional — 180 days of Priority Updates
If you have purchased one of these products, you must register to receive Priority Update services. You can register your product at:

http://www.redhat.com/now

If you have already registered your product with Red Hat and designated a login id and password, you can retrieve package updates from priority.redhat.com server by intitiating an ftp session on priority.redhat.com or by running the Red Hat Update Agent application with proper settings for priority.redhat.com.

Both of these options will require your redhat.com login id and password. If you registered your product prior to October 27, 1999, your login id will be your email address. A password is designated at time of registration.
 
If you are running Red Hat Linux 6.1, and you want to set up the Red Hat Update Agent application (up2date.rpm) for automated retrievals and installation from priority.redhat.com, information on setup and use can be found at:

If you have not purchased and registered an Official Red Hat Linux 6.0 or 6.1 product, and you would like to recieve Priority Update services from Red Hat, please visit the Red Hat store at:

https://store.redhat.com/commerce/

Priority Update services will be available for purchase separate from Official Red Hat Linux products beginning November 18, 1999.
