Support Internet Standards

   Designed to support iTIP, iRIP and iMIP and includes a rudimentary implementation of these protocols (these interfaces are not, however, publicly exposed for use with the 1.0 product)
   Actively involved with the IETF CAP requirements and preliminary definition, and plan to support CAP as soon as it is available

   Maintenance and administration can be centralized or managed from remote locations
   Includes command-line utilities that enable administration tasks to be automated
   Individual calendars may be backed up, copied to alternate servers, or stored in an offline mode that allows subsequent restoration, differential modes of access or archiving
   Supports online maintenance operations without taking any calendar server downtime or loss of service to users connected to the server

Flexible Client Support

   Sun Web Access provides ubiquitous, Internet-based access that allows your calendar server information to be available from any HTML compatible web browser or device
   Common Desktop Environment (CDE) calendaring client provides LAN-based access with feature-rich functionality
   Third party providers may offer tools and facilities to enable developers to build synchronization services that can connect Sun Calendar Server with other devices
   Synchronization services may be available, but are separate and not included with the product
   Plan to support CAP protocol to support low-bandwidth, thin, and disconnected clients

User Self-Administration

   Users can create their own groups and share them with other users
   Users can manage designated permissions granted to other users
   Users can configure their own client parameters

Free-time Search

   Fully supports calendar multibrowsing for searching a user's availability
   Advanced search and group scheduling functions are expected with CAP clients

Migration Tools

   Offer migration kit for Solaris CDE calendar

Platforms Support

   Supports Solaris 2.6 Solaris 7 Operating Environment software on both SPARC and Intel platforms.
