VideoClick addresses all the needs of the evolving digital video market from simultaneous acquisition, streaming and viewing of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video (on-demand, scheduled and multicast), through efficient management of video content and its users, to the integration of video knowledge into a variety of organizational workflow processes. Standards-based and fully scalable, VideoClick is the most extensive video distribution and management software solution available.

Full-VCR functionality - The VideoClick player provides full VCR functionality including Play, Pause, Fast- Forward and Fast-Rewind, and advanced features such as Slow Motion, Forward-Step, Back-Step, Matrix View and immediate Seek (random access) to every frame in the video.

Graphic user interface - Intuitive Windows interface or web-browser interface using a web browser plug-in.

Frame accuracy - VideoClick supports full frame accuracy from the server, making every frame in a video easily accessible. This enables the Seek function to locate frames with pinpoint precision and is the basis for advanced Bookmarking capabilities and step-by-step viewing.

Real-time mode: replay and edit during acquisition - VideoClick enables viewers to watch and edit videos as they are being acquired from analog and digital sources. VideoClick supports full on-demand functionality for such "on-air" videos, and is ideal for real-time acquisition and transmission of live events. VideoClick also allows users to bookmark live video, thus saving time and human resources.

Concurrent access by multiple viewers - VideoClick offers on-demand, scheduled and multi-cast viewing of high quality video data. Many viewers can simultaneously access the VideoClick server to view and interact with full-screen, full-motion video.

Database management - VideoClick uses a standard ODBC-compliant database for the management of video content, bookmarks, associated data, users, groups of users and viewing permissions.

Advanced Bookmarking - Frame accuracy enables the indexing of single frames and the attachment of bookmarks, either manually or automatically to every new scene. Users can mark desired scenes or frames in the video, and attach associated text, graphics or voice annotations. Bookmarks are saved in the database tables and can be used for immediate search and retrieval of video files and scenes. Multiple users can view the relevant video at the same time and share associated information.

Advanced Search and Retrieval - VideoClick supports advanced search and retrieval capabilities that enable the user to reach and play a desired video scene or frame in an instant, using indexing parameters associated with data and keywords.

Hyperlinks with other applications - Through a simple drag and drop operation, VideoClick’s bookmarks can be inserted as hyperlinks into any Microsoft OLE-compliant document such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, thus allowing users to jump from the document to a specific frame or scene within a movie and vice-versa. Video presentation can be synchronized with slides and documents to enhance the video-rich presentation experience. VideoClick’s hyperlinks can also be added to HTML pages, allowing video files, scenes, and frames to be easily accessed from a browser interface.

Editing functions - VideoClick provides several frame-accurate and time-code dependent editing functions such as Cut and Save, Create Playlist and Capture Frame. All editing functions can be performed while the content is being acquired. This feature allows VideoClick users to perform these editing functions without relying on external editing systems. By supporting time-code and Edit Decision List (EDL), VideoClick can also be connected and its information shared with other editing systems.

Comprehensive distribution in the workflow -VideoClick provides a comprehensive method for distribution of digital video in the workflow. It enables the management of myriad activities associated with the video workflow: content acquisition, assignment of viewing permissions, association with other information and applications, and simultaneous viewing and information sharing by many users. Using the VideoClick standalone version, content distribution and workflow management can also be extended to clients and other users external to the organization.

Scalable, Standard-based Architecture - VideoClick employs a software-only, scalable client-server architecture, which is based on standard hardware, software, communication protocols, and MPEG compression schemes. VideoClick can be easily integrated into existing network environments such as LAN and Intranet and is flexible for changes in scale, configuration and functionality. VideoClick comprises the following components:

SDK (Software Development Kit) - VideoClick has an SDK that contains a rich set of documented API (Application Program Interface) functions. Using the SDK, a third party software developer can customize VideoClick according to desired specifications, or seamlessly integrate it with other applications.

VideoClick standalone version - VideoClick can be extended beyond the network with the VideoClick standalone version, which can run on an individual PC or laptop. The standalone product can import MPEG video and associated data from the server, and plays them locally from a hard disk or CD drive with the same functionality as the networked viewer. Content can also be edited and exported back to the server. The standalone version is ideal for content distribution, for users on the move and for external clients.
