Window Maker is an X11 window manager designed to give additional integration support for GNUstep applications. It tries to emulate the elegant look and feel of the NeXTSTEP(tm) GUI. It is relatively fast, feature rich, and easy to configure and use. If you have any questions about Window Maker, you're urged to read the FAQ that is maintained by Chris Green. You can also read a slightly modified version by Largo. If the answer to your question(s) isn't available in the FAQ's, you can try the Mailing Lists. Please note that asking questions on the list which are covered in the FAQ is NOT A GOOD IDEA. For those of you that can view postscript, you should take a look at the User Guide. You can also view the HTML version in the works by Jeremy Crabtree. The latest version of Window Maker is 0.61.1 in [ gzip | bzip2 | patch ] formats. For 0.6x.x, you must download and compile the NEW libPropList seperately. As of 0.52.x, themes and extra icons are in the Window Maker Extras tarball. Read the ChangeLog for what's new.

2000-02-19 version 0.6.5 of the GNUstep development environment has been released! The GNUstep developers are making excellent progress, so please visit their website for all of the latest updates. 2000-02-18 Ok.. I finally put up a mirrors page. It's sloppy, like the rest of the site currently, but will be improved in the future. I added an extra menu link to the FTP site (for the benefit of those behind firewalls who have access through HTTP). Corrected a few links under the links and projects sections also. 2000-02-17 I have received a number of E-mails from interested individuals who would like to help out with the website et. al. Frankly, I wasn't expecting such an overwhelming response. :) I think we will be pretty well covered (staff wise) for the time being. However, we still encourage everyone to participate in other ways (join the mailing lists, beta test, submit patches, etc!). More News ...
