XML Resource Guide: Commerce, EDIXFRMLLink: http://www.xfrml.orgDate: Sept. 17, 1999 Source: AICPA The AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) has started a working group for XFRML (XML-based Financial Reporting Markup Language). Examples of the "financial statements" that might be expressed using XFRML include: balance sheets, income statements, statements of equity, statements of cash flows, notes to the financial statements, and accountant's reports. The group plans to have a "functional language" going by March 1, 2000 that will include "browser-based" stylesheets that render these financial statements as a web page. At present, all of the examples on the XFRML website depend on proprietary IE5-specific browser features, rather than XML. Submitted by Lisa Rein
