XRS is an XML indexing and retrieval engine that uses the BUS (Bottom-Up Scheme of Index retrieval), which only indexes the leaf elements as defined by a DTD. XRS uses a Java component to render its XML outpu as HTML, and is a connected to a "Query Mediator" servlet between the end-user and the back-end of the search engine.
