The Java Beans APIs are also closely related to other core Java APIs which are described in separate documents. (See links below.)

For example, JavaBeans uses the Java Object Serialization API as its main persistence mechanism, and that mechanism has been designed to work well with Beans. Similarly, JavaBeans makes heavy use of the Java Core Reflection API, etc.

• "The Java Core Reflection API". This describes reflection APIs to support analyzing the fields and methods of objects.
• "Java Object Serialization". This describes the Java Object Serialization APIs.
• "JDK 1.1 - AWT Enhancements". These web pages describe extensions that are being added to AWT, notably for uniform data transfer.
