This article shows the easy way to achieve this, however, there are more secure means as well, using things like xauth. Hopefully, we will have an article on how to use that later." November 17, 07:01 AM CST: Slashdoting is fun for the family
Well, we somehow got on Slashdot. So, I was going to put up my next editorial, but since we are currently getting slammed, and my next editorial is going to be a bit controversial, I'm going to probably wait to put it out till tomorrow. Otherwise, I think the server will hold up okay.... - Erik November 16, 11:10 PM CST: News from the Front Line The constant challenge of coming up with a new subject for my news posts... it's the bane of my existence or something :) Anyway, as Erik keeps stating, I'm hard at work on the devel site, which ought to have a few neat features, but it probably won't be rolled out for a month or so (guess that makes this post filled with hype or something; maybe we should have followed transmeta's example and not announced anything (except that you're not going to announce anything :) But, oh well... too late for that thought now. Based on the results in the current poll, the forum will probably get another rewrite, though that may not happen until after the roll-out. Depends on how my time goes as exams approach. In other fun news, considering two Loki games went gold recently, I'm going to try to roll out a review of one or both of them in the next week, so keep your eyes peeled for that one. Also, I've been playing with DVD under Linux. Currently, I'm watching the Matrix (no audio -- current CVS code desyncs audio and video somewhat badly but that should clear up) while I work on code. Now it's back to work for me for another half hour or so before heading to bed... - Jeremy November 16, 08:02 AM CST: From the I dont know what section Well, I hope that you guys enjoyed the PHP interview. I'm trying to decide if I want to put up a howto-ish like article or a different, more editorial type one. I guess Ill figure it out later today. I looked over the 'development site' today, and things seem to be really moving forward in that area. Im hoping that we will start really beta testing the site soon. In that line of thought, email Jeremy if you want to be added to our beta group for testing the new site. One advantage is you get the name that you want as your 'nick' if you beta test. After the beta test, it's first come, first serve basically. - Erik November 15, 09:04 AM CST: The Interview Well, the interview is up, it's with the php group. For some reason the description isn't showing up for me, but that should get fixed later today. Hope you guys enjoy the interview. - Erik |
