Every job requires commitment to network security

It is not enough to realize how many attacks occur, or the types of attacks that are happening. We must develop a defensive mindset that will create an on-going sense of urgency about protecting data and systems. We all have responsibility for information security, regardless of whether we work in information technology. This is especially true for the management ranks of any business. The chief executive officer, president and vice presidents all have responsibility to shareholders, customers and employees to ensure security, confidentiality of data and privacy.

While employees should be able to look to senior management for a strong commitment to security, it is imperative that they are as devoted to the concept.
