I tend to to create little programs and such as I need them, so I've decided make them available to anyone who might find them useful. Everything currently listed is free and most of it is undocumented. With the exception of one of these apps in particular, I won't offer much support, but I happily take suggestions for improvements. Some of these files will make their way onto the general archive sites some day. Others won't.

Feel free to drop me a note telling me you are using something from here. If enough people are using something, I could be persuaded to make improvements. Most of it works well enough and is easy enough to use as is. If it works for you, great. If not, well, that's how it goes. I'm a Ph.D. student doing this in what little spare time I have, so you get what you pay for. If you want to redistribute something, please ask for permission.

AETE Converter for MacPerl

aete.converter_1.1.sea.hqx This perl script reads the aete (Apple Event Terminology Extension) resource from an application and converts it to a text file. The format of the resulting file is the same as that used by the Aete2Rez script which comes with the MacPerl distribution. Version 1.1 fixes a bug with converting the various flags.

Here is an in-progress set of perl5 modules to simplify generating MIF (FrameMaker) files. They will go onto CPAN as soon as I get a few more bugs hammered out.

lpr thing

lpr thing - A Macintosh lpr client. It's useful if you want to print from your Mac to a printer hanging off of a unix box somewhere. It's not finished, but it doesn't crash either. This application is scriptable and allows you to drag files onto its icon for printing. Someday, this may become a QuickDraw GX print driver. I do plan some improvements for this guy, whenever I get time.Freeware, fat binary, no documentation is available. Source

FixPageMill (perl version)

FixPageMill for Perl - A set of AppleScript and MacPerl code for cleaning up html files created by PageMill. This stuff could be used for general html cleanup as well. The perl script can be run without AppleScript and could easily be converted to run under unix. This archive is essentially a translation of Clint MacDonald's AppleScript and BBEdit code which does the same thing. Freeware, some documentation is available.

Version 1.01 (3/6/96) saves the processed files as PageMill documents and cleans up a loop in the perl code.
