The volume of mail I'm receiving now is so high I can no longer either respond to or publish anywhere near all letters. Please be assured that I will continue to read them all, however. And I hope, at some point, to get enough time to add more of your responses to the end of articles.
In the meantime, you may improve your chances of being published by following these guidelines:
- Rather than responding to what has already been published, offer questions and ideas on new topics. I will publish some continuing dialog on real hot-button issues, but most readers have expressed interest in moving on.
- Offer topics of general interest. If you have a specific problem unique to your application or site, it will not be of interest to any of the thousands of other readers. As a result, I won't be able to respond to it.
- Make either your question/comment controversial or select a topic that is controversial. It is the goal of AskTog to be both useful and interesting. While I do try to cover a lot of issues that are simply useful, the log files of the site show that AskTog readers are even more interested in controversy.
Please do assume I will publish your letter. If you don't want something published, please clearly mark it accordingly. If you want to use a pseudonym, I will respect it.
And let me know how you want to be "billed." Unless you indicate otherwise, I will use only the name, abbreviation, or pseudonym with which you "sign" your letter. Please tell me explicitly if you want me to also include:
- Full name.
- Company name
- Email Address
- Etc.
If you say nothing, I will assume you would like me to leave them off.
And now, click here to open up a new message so you can send your letter to tog@asktog.com. And thanks!
