Don't you wish you lived the glamorous game journalist's life, flying around the country, seeing games before anyone else, staying up after 10pm, sipping sodas... Chris Hudak does, and he's checking in with the latest word on Perfect Dark.

Maybe it's because the Nintendo 64 is so smoothly contoured that it is just now getting a Ridge Racer game, Ridge Racer 64 to be exact. You had to know that Vic was going to like it.

Also for the Nintendo 64, is THQ's well shaken cartridge of whoop ass, WWF Wrestlemania 2000.

La, la, la, la, la, la, ... You all had a crush on Smurfette and you know it. Well the PlayStation game, The Smurfs is here and it's for leetle kids.

This week at EP
Tuesday
On Leap Day, the Electric Playground is serving up a heaping plateful of gaming goodness:

First on the menu is a meaty portion of Westwood Studios' latest and greatest PC title, NoX. We have both a review and a radio interview.

As a side dish, we have Shaun Conlin's take on a couple of Nintendo 64 driving games: Vigilante 8 2nd Offense, and Re-Volt.

Also, for dessert, we're serving up a preview of Street Sk8er 2, Electronic Arts' next kick at the PlayStation skateboard can.

Monday
For all the effort that goes into developing games that are deep, Artificially Intelligent and capital "I" immersive, sometimes the most fun to be had with a game console is some rapid, spastic, dumb and explosive action. Two great examples of such gaming are:

Road Rash Jailbreak on the PlayStation, and

Destruction Derby 64.

Friday
More PC shooters. Will the violence never end?

Is that a voxel in your pocket or are you just happy from playing Delta Force 2?

For the peaceniks, we had Shaun take a look at Animaniacs Splat Ball.

Thursday
Ever want to leap ahead in time while you are dragging through mid week? Well, here are two games that deal with leaping about in space and time:

We're not sure what to say about Mortyr. This PC game was made in Poland, has more Swastikas than you can shake a grenade at and is as good as Pi.

And, SouthPeak's latest PC title, X-Beyond the Frontier comes close, but, to Mark Brooks, ends up playing like Microsoft Excel in space, which actually, according to our accountant, is more fun than you might think.

Coming as a shock to no one, Activision has announced that Tony Hawk: Pro Skater is going to have a sequel. This and more in the News.
