The JavaTM Sound API specification
provides low-level support for audio operations such as audio mixing,
audio capture, MIDI sequencing, and MIDI synthesis in a framework that
promotes extensibility and flexibility.

The Java Sound API is now included with the
JavaTM 2 SDK,
Standard Edition, v. 1.3 RC1 Release

The Java Sound API is also included with the
JavaTM Media Framework 2.0 FCS Release
|

Java Sound 1.0 API Specification:
This version of the specification corresponds with the
Java Sound API which is included with the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition
1.3 RC1 release, and as part of the JMF 2.0 FCS release. Please follow
the links below to learn more about this specification.

Soundbanks
High quality soundbanks which can be used by the Java Sound
engine. Note the Windows version of the
Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition, v. 1.3 RC1 Release does
not bundle a software soundbank, so you have to manually install one
in order to use software MIDI synthesis.

This demo showcases how the Java Sound API can be used for controlling
audio playback, audio capture, MIDI synthesis, and basic MIDI sequencing.
It includes source code, and is designed to
work with the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.3 RC1 Release.
