Russell Subject: Dual-boot linux and win95

what you need to do is either to put linux on a separate hard drive or partition your current hard drive. You can use the freeware program FIPS (make sure you use version 1.5c if you have a FAT32 File system!!) or use partition magic.
As for installing linux - I can't help you with that unless you tell which distribution you're using.

Ack Subject: Don't use Red Hat ....

It's not that I don't like Red Hat, but for the average newbie who will probably want to dual boot thier system, Caldera is the better choice. The current version is OpenLinux 2.3 and comes with a version of partition magic to handle the disk partitioning stuff for you. It also has the windows emulator with it (WINE) so you can try out some of your Windows software under Linux.
