Q: When is medical/dental coverage effective?
A: The day you start working at Microsoft.

Q: What will the medical/dental coverage premiums for myself and my family cost me?
A: Zero.

Q: Does my medical plan cover my family?
A: Yes. Your plan covers spouses/same-sex domestic partners and eligible dependent children. Most plans cover routine checkups and immunizations for children up to 11 years of age.

Q: Are pre-existing conditions covered?
A: Yes.

Q: When am I eligible for 401(k)?
A: During open enrollment periods: June or December.

Q: How much does Microsoft match my 401(k) account?
A: 50 cents per dollar up to six percent of your contribution rate.

Q: When do I vest in my 401(k)?
A: You are 100 percent vested in Microsoft's matching contributions after two years of service.

Q: Can I waive my medical/dental coverage and take cash?
A: You can waive your coverage and receive money back in the form of taxable cash.

Q: Can Microsoft help me find day care for my child?
A: Microsoft has a resource and referral service that helps you find the right day care for your needs. Includes in-home care and nanny information.

Q: How does the tuition reimbursement work?
A: Employees are eligible for tuition assistance after being with Microsoft for one year. Reimbursement is made upon completion of course, if employee has maintained at least a C average
