Jack Bryar

WEDNESDAYS
|
J. V. "Jack" Bryar is a grizzled and grouchy veteran of the IT wars. After
years of laboring in senior marketing and product development capacities at
a couple of Boston-based high tech firms, and co-founding an Electronic
Document Management firm, he despaired of finding honest work. So Bryar ran
a consulting firm, extracting exorbitant fees for performing what he called
"technical due diligence" on behalf of high tech investors. In other
words, finding out if the technology actually worked, if the creators
still worked for the company, or if the patents were any good. A
self-proclaimed specialist in the area of broadband, "computer mediated
communications" technology, his most recent (and ongoing) gig has been as
an analyst and business consultant for NewsEdge Corp., where he bites his
tongue far more than he apparently does on our pages. Jack splits his time
between Burlington, Massachusetts and Grafton, Vermont, where he lives with
his brilliant son, winsome twin daughters and, his charming, beautiful, and
incredibly patient wife, who wrote the last line of this biography.
