AutoPub allows you to breakup large WWW documents into
smaller more manageable files with a Table of Contents
allowing viewers to go directly to the content of interest.
AutoPub was built to convert large existing html/text
documents (medical, legal, technical,
procedural, etc.), into many smaller files with a
Table of Contents.
AutoPub extracts text from the big
file (usually between major number formatted sections
e.g., 1.0 up to 2.0, 2.0 up to 3.0, etc. ) and
sandwiches that extracted information between common
header and footer markups creating smaller
individual files. AutoPub provides the means for
creating a Table of Contents page as it breaks the
document up and supplies the appropriate hyperlinks
to the files it creates as it creates the TOC
entries. The WWW reader can scan the TOC page for the
document section they wish to view, click
on the hyperlink, and go directly to the html file
containing the appropriate information. Once
created, the files can be uploaded to the WWW server
directly from AutoPub.
