Expect Home Page
Expect is a tool for automating interactive applications such as telnet, ftp, passwd, fsck, rlogin, tip, etc. Expect really makes this stuff trivial. Expect is also useful for testing these same applications. And by adding Tk, you can also wrap interactive applications in X11 GUIs. Expect 5.30 is the last version compatible with Tcl 8.0. Expect 5.31 is the first version compatible with Tcl 8.2. Presently, 5.31 is only available from the Scriptics CVS repository; see http://dev.scriptics.com/software/tcltk/netcvs.html Edit (1999-11-08 00:00:00)
Expect port to Windows NT
This is a port of Expect to NT by Gordon Chaffee.
Expect 5 for Tcl 8.0 and Tk 8.0. It works with no other versions of Tcl or Tk. This distribution comes with the code for both Tcl 8.0 and Tk 8.0. The Tcl 8.0 distribution has been modified from the original Tcl 8.0 distribution. It adds support for event driven I/O over pipes and event driven console input. This distribution gets information from a different registry key than the Sun distribution, so it can be installed safely with a Tcl 8.0 distribution as long as you use separate install directories. Expect scripts, contributed
There are many example expect scripts in this archive. Edit (1999-09-13 00:00:00)
List of Expect examples
This is just a list. If you want the actual examples, download the entire Expect distribution. However, it's useful to look at this list to get a feel for some of the many things that Expect makes easy. Edit (1999-09-08 00:00:00)
