Download: scotty-2.1.10.tar.gz
Scotty is a package that allows you to develop network management applications quickly with Tcl. The scotty source distribution includes two major components. The first one is the Tnm Tcl Extension which provides access to network management information sources. The second component is the Tkined network editor which provides a framework for an extensible network management system. Scotty supports SNMP, ICMP, DNS, HTTP, SUN RPC, NTP, and UDP.
Version 2.1.10 has a necessary fix to work properly with Tcl 8.0.3.

SNACC Asn.1 to C Compiler
(unknown author) Version 1.3, Works with Tcl 8.0
Download: snacc-1.3.tar.gz
This package provides the C/yacc/lex source code for snacc, a freeware ASN.1 to C or C++ compiler with a BER en-/decoding library. Given an ASN.1 source file(s) snacc can produce:
  • C routines for BER encoding, decoding, printing and freeing.
  • C++ routines for BER encoding, decoding, and printing.
  • A type table that can be used with generic C routines and Tcl for BER encoding, decoding, printing and freeing.

The XPA Messaging System
(unknown author) Version 2.0, Works with 8.x
Download: xpa-2.0.tar.gz, xpa-2.0.tar.Z
The XPA messaging system provides seamless communication between many kinds of Unix programs, including X programs and Tcl/Tk programs. It also provides an easy way for users to communicate with XPA-enabled programs by executing XPA client commands in the shell or by utilizing such commands in scripts. Because XPA works both at the programming level and the shell level, it is a powerful tool for unifying any analysis environment: users and programmers have great flexibility in choosing the best level or levels at which to access XPA services, and client access can be extended or modified easily at any time. A program becomes an XPA-enabled server by defining named points of public access through which data and commands can be exchanged with other client programs (and users). Using standard TCP sockets as a transport mechanism, XPA supports both single-point and broadcast messaging to and from these servers. It supports direct communication between clients and servers, or indirect communication via an intermediate message bus emulation program. Host-based access control is implemented, as is as the ability to communicate with XPA servers across a network. Edit (1999-08-19 00:00:00)
TLS - OpenSSL for Tcl
TLS is an extension that brings the power of OpenSSL to the Tcl World. It requires the presence of the Trf Core patch, but once this has been done any bi-directional Tcl Channel can be SSL enabled. Edit (1999-08-19 00:00:00)
VioScript CORBA Interface
VioScript is a general purpose scripting language based on the popular Tool Command Language (Tcl). Tcl is easily embeddable into C and C++ applications. Its C-like syntax and portability (UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh) makes it a favorite among scripting languages. There are many extensions to Tcl that provide new language functions or interfaces to vertical applications such as database access and multimedia. VioScript offers two significant extensions: the ability to create and manipulate complex objects and the ability to send these objects in requests to Common Object Request Broker (CORBA) Services. VioScript runs on Win95/NT and most Unix systems and supports Orbix 2.0 or above from Iona. Edit (1999-12-08 00:00:00)
