Ability to find your Documents on the Search Engines or on your Intranet

Search Engines today utilize a Full Text Search, which applies simple information theory to determine what your document is about. Then it adds the reference to a database, like AltaVista or HotBot.

Metadata-based, search engines, read in the metadata in your document and then analysis is performed to confirm that the document content is equal to what the metadata is telling the search mechanism about your document, "relevance."

HISC products for embedding metadata and relevance checking provide the Document Author/Webmaster with the ability to control how Metadata Search Engines or Full Text Search Engines will view their document.  more information
