Rscript is based upon Expect/Tcl and allows you to automate remote logins and execute remote commands, somewhat like rsh. It's also useful for scheduling tasks using your local cron instead of the remote cron (great for automating commands on systems where you don't have cron privileges!). Command lists can be executed as user or as root, depending upon your needs. Finally, you have the option of having a confirmation email sent to you from the remote host upon script completion.
