The JavaTM
Media APIs meet the increasing demand for multimedia in the enterprise
by providing a unified, non-proprietary, platform-neutral solution.
This set of APIs supports the integration of audio and video clips,
animated presentations, 2D fonts, graphics, and images, as well as
speech input/output and 3D models. By providing standard
players and integrating these supporting technologies, the Java Media

Java Image I/O API.
Also known as "JSR-015 Image I/O Framework", this API introduces
a pluggable framework for reading and writing images of various
formats. Both the API and an early access implmentation may be
downloaded at the above URL.

The Java Sound 1.0 API software is now available
as part of J2SE 1.3 FCS for Windows and JMF 2.0 FCS!
This finalized API allows you to capture microphone data and read, play and
store a multitude of different audio formats including WAV, AIFF,

This API enables the creation of three-dimensional graphics
applications and applets, and gives developers high-level constructs for
